The Development Team will be a subset of the program comprised of AAVC members interested in advancing in racing category and who commit to consistent and season-long training, racing, club service, and Development Program participation.

2011 Trainer Ride Schedule

Thanks to all who completed the poll about the trainer ride schedule. We wanted to make sure we didn't miss an obvious time. As a result of the feedback and to keep consistency with the past and warmer weather road rides, we'll keeping the Tuesday and Thursday times, but also adding a Saturday time.

The full schedule for rides is always available on the calendar page, but here's quick rundown on the details for trainer rides.

Timeframe: January-February (March is contingent on weather and store space)
Location: all rides are at Great Lakes Cycling & Fitness, 2015 West Stadium Boulevard, Ann Arbor, MI (Google map).
Days and times:

  • Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00-7:45 p.m. Set up starts at 6:00 p.m., riding is roughly 6:30-7:45, then pick up and out of the store by 8:00.
  • Saturday, 10:00-noon. Store opens and set up starts at 10:00 a.m., riding is roughly 10:30-noon.

Please Remember...

  • Bring a towel to help keep sweat from getting on the floors.
  • Bring your own trainer/rollers. We sometimes have a loaner or two available but check first before counting on it.
  • Bringing a fan is helpful to stay cool. Some fans will be there but more are welcome.
  • There will usually be a video playing (often a bike race), but the workout is on your own--no organized group work.

Poll: Trainer Ride Schedule

We are trying to schedule trainer nights for the rest of the winter. These will be 1-2 hour indoor trainer workouts at AAVC sponsor Great Lakes Cycling and Fitness on Stadium in Ann Arbor. Traditionally we have planned these workouts to coincide with our weekly in-season rides (Tues/Thurs) but we know that people may have different schedules in the winter.

We want to know when you would be most likely to join us for trainer workouts beginning in January. The dates provided in the poll are only for the first week but we hope to use your feedback to set the schedule for the rest of the winter. We hope to add a weekend workout as well, so if you can join us on the weekend select whether Saturday or Sunday works best for you.

Please follow this link to let us know which days would work best for you: http://doodle.com/eymigf4smaxqr3q2

Happy New Year!!

2011 AAVC Team Clothing Order

Place your 2011 team clothing orders now! We are ordering clothing from Hincapie Sportswear again and sizing is the same as 2010 (with a few more big and small sizes available—kids through 3XL). We will use the same design (general layout, colors, panels) as 2010 with only minor changes. And we've managed to decrease the prices on jerseys and bibshorts for 2011!

Orders can be placed and paid for online at the same time this year rather than having to wait for separate invoicing like last season. Please visit the order page [link removed, orders closed] to place your online order. If you prefer to pay by check, please visit the order page [link removed, orders closed], read the info, and use the hardcopy order form link to submit your order and payment.

All orders are due by Tuesday, December 14, 2010, with payment in full (update on 12/15/10: orders are now due by Sunday, Dec. 19). This will likely be the only clothing order for the 2011 season, so if you're interested in getting clothes for next season, it is recommended you take advantage of this order. Delivery is expected sometime in March, and we'll share a more specific timeframe once notified by Hincapie.

As is usual, we need to have a minimum order on all items, so in the event we do not have the minimum of 10 items requested for a particular item you order, you will be contacted to see if you want a similar item (e.g. a short sleeve version instead of long sleeve) or if you would like a refund on the unavailable item. We will provide updates during the three weeks that orders are being accepted so you know the quantity of items being ordered.

If you have any questions, please contact Lucas Wall.
